Pursuant to the rules of Japan Amateur Athletic Federations for the year 1999 and those of the current event.

Time Limit for Finish

5 hours

Gate Regulations

1) Gateways are set up every 5km with closing times scheduled as stated below. Athletes who arrive at a gateway after the closing time will not be allowed to participate in the race thereafter. Furthermore, those who are still running between the gateways in question after the closing time have to abandon the race.

2) Those athletes who could not make the closing time and / or those who were told to discontinue the race by officers are to remove their number cards and follow the officers’ instructions.
Those running without number cards are not considered to be registered runners.

Eligibility

1) JAAF registered members
Runners who have registered the 1999 JAAF membership. Men and women who will be over 19 years of age on the race day.
2) Runners in general category, who have not registered the above membership. Men and women who will be over 19 years of age on the race day.
3) Invited runners
Domestic and overseas athletes who are recommended and invited by the Japan Amateur Athletic Federation or the event organizer.

5,000 people (in the order of arrival)

Entry Fee

5,000 Japanese Yen (including insurance, participation souvenir, finisher's record-certificate)

Original T-shirt, and others.

Awards

1) General: 
-- Registered members of JAAF men and women who finish from the 1st to 10th place will be awarded respectively.
-- General athletes, men and women who finish from the 1st to 10th place will be awarded respectively.

2) Category by age for both men and women (general athletes), categories are:
-- Under 30 years of age
-- 30 to 39
-- 40 to 49
-- 50 to 59
-- 60 years of age and over
The 1st to 6th place of each category will be awarded.

Participation Rules

  • Participants are required to take medical check-up by a doctor and grasp physical condition properly.
  • Participants are not permitted to accept help or any kind from others during the race. When the judge recognizes that a runner is unable to continue the race or a runner disturbs others (back running or running in zigzags etc.), the judge may order the runner to discontinue the race.
  • Organizer will bear no responsibility for any accident during the race, except providing first aid to the participants. All participants will have sport accident insurance automatically when an entry is permitted. Please be reminded that this insurance does not cover cases that require hospitalization due to internal disease and others.
  • All the participants should acknowledge that their photos during the race might be used for the event brochure and other publications without being notified. No claims can be made to the organizer being photographed during the race.
  • Every runner should be capable of running the full marathon within 5 hours. When your entry is permitted, train yourself fully for the race.
  • Participants are not allowed to wear anything that appeals advertising / sales promotion purposes (trademark or design symbolizing specific corporations or products). Excessive costume is not allowed for the participants as well.

Others

  • The race will be timed with RC chip (Runners Champion chip). Attach RC chip on your shoe before the race (RC chip will be sent together with number card). Yellow chip holders are required to use his / her own chip.
  • Commendation for the registered members will be based on time from the gunshot. Commendation for other runners, however, will be based on net time (from the time when a runners is crossing the start line till when crossing the finish line).
  • An accompanying runner is allowed to assist visually impaired runner. An accompanist should identify so during the race.
  • The official record certificate will be issued for the registered members upon request with a charge.
